How do we make arrangements to check into the apartment and get the keys?
You will need to provide us with your approximate arrival time with as much anticipation as possible. We will then give you clear directions from the airport, train station or by car. Once we know your estimated arrival time, we will arrange to have someone waiting for you at your apartment door. Your greeter will show you the basic things you need to know about your apartment. She/he will ask you for the balance of your rental payment, your 100-euro deposit, and give you the key.
If I drive into Valencia, where can I park my car?
Parking in the city is very difficult. We strongly recommend that you do not arrive in the City in a car. Parking is difficult at best. Sometimes one must drive around continuously up and down many maze-like streets looking for an empty spot only to become lost in the neighborhood. Public parking lots are scarce and difficult to find. One does not need a car in Valencia. Public transportation is fast, efficient and inexpensive and taxis are abundant.
How far is the train station or airport from the apartments?
The train station is within one block of the Xativa apartment and within six blocks of the Repeso apartment. With luggage you may want to take a taxi to the Repeso apartment.
Valencia’s International airport is in Manises, 14 kilometers west of the center of the city. There is an airport bus into the city center every ten to fifteen minutes daily. Taxis wait outside the departures hall and charge approximately 12-15 euros (depending on the meter) to take you to the city center.
Are there any additional costs that I may find out about later?
No, absolutely none. Many rental apartments add on many additional fees for linens and some even charge a rental fee for each towel and set of sheets. Most charge extra for cleaning. Our feeling is that these services are our responsibility and should be part of an excellent service provided. One all inclusive rental fee will cover all expenses, including the cleaning before and after your stay.
What is the difference between the reservation deposit and the security deposit?
THE RESERVATION DEPOSIT
The reservation deposit must be made to confirm and hold your reservation. Once you deposit 30% of the total payment in our account, your reservation is secure. The deposit payment will be deducted from the total amount of your rental charge that you will pay on arrival at the apartment.
THE SECURITY DEPOSIT
When you arrive at the apartment, you will also be asked to pay in cash an additional 100 euro security deposit to cover any damage, key loss or missing items. After your stay, the cleaner will inventory the apartment to be sure all is in order. Within ten days we will refund this security deposit to you by direct bank deposit or mail, as you prefer. We would like to return it immediately but the cleaner needs to go through the checklist of the inventory. This is not possible to do before you leave and sometimes takes a few days before the process begins.
What happens at checkout?
Your original greeter will arrive when you are ready to check out. He/she will be sure that all lights, air conditioning and hot water are shut off and will collect the key from you.
What is your refund policy?
If you cancel your booking within two weeks of arrival you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within one week of arrival or less you will not be entitled to a refund on your reservation deposit. We strongly recommend our renters to take out holiday or rental insurance just to protect themselves from a necessary last minute cancellation.
